Running With the Pack – Tech Sales Rep Mike Southwick


Mike Southwick has been a vital part of the Technical Sales team for over 6 years. Since starting out with Premier, Mike’s main priority has been fostering relationships with our customers that are driven by trust. He has developed a reputation for offering our customers the best in truck advice, from performance to accessories. His hands-on experience gives him the confidence to know that he is recommending the right part for the build, and that expertise translates into value for both Premier and our dealers.


The Tech Sales team at Premier Performance focuses on bringing dealers the best advice on all things ‘truck.’ The key to this formula is hands-on experience working with the parts we sell and working on the vehicle segments we serve. Having Mike on our team has been, and continues to be, a great benefit and source for this knowledge.

Mike has been part of our pack for eight years, and in that time he has gained a thorough understanding of our line card, industry trends, and customer service. He started his career with Premier in 2010, working in our Returns Department. That experience gave him the chance to build familiarity with the many brands we carry and the many parts in our warehouses. This also allowed him to get to know our customers and the most common issues that dealers face. Having this experience has added great value to his current position of Tech Sales Rep. All of this combined, makes Mike a trusted resource for product knowledge and advice.

Our Test Vehicle Program is designed for qualified sales staff members to install and test new products on their personal vehicles. This allows Mike to be able to develop further product knowledge and hands on experience as he continuously customizes the build for his truck.  He likes to test out these new products and give his input on the parts, which in turn allows him to give our customers a firsthand review and recommendation of the products he installs.  This knowledge is then shared throughout the Premier sales staff, ensuring that the whole team benefits anytime someone tests out a new part.

Through our Test Vehicle Program, regular training sessions from visiting manufacturers, and working on his own truck, Mike continues to learn and apply this knowledge when helping our customers on a daily basis.  Mike is able to do what he loves and help our customers at the same time.


Mike is currently driving a 2017 F-250 6.7-liter Power Stroke. It’s equipped with a variety of aftermarket upgrades, including both accessories and performance parts. With additional upgrades planned, his build currently has the following items:

  • BAK Industries- Revolver X2
  • Bedrug- Classic Bed Liner
  • EZ LYNK – Auto Agent
  • Area Diesel Service- Truck Module
  • S&B- Cold Air Intake and Filter Sock
